I was still in high school when I first learned to develop and enlarge my own film.
quickly the class divided into two groups: those who were angered by the failure of their work and those who were motivated by the destruction to try again and succeed.
I belonged to the latter.
as I finished winding the roll in complete darkness, I often took pleasure in imagining the photo that I had only as a vague memory, burning on the blank photographic paper.
the very image that my eyes will surely never see again.
Destruction opens a door for new interpretation, and to me, new interpretations is what art is about.
Welcome to my darkroom.
